Right now if I filed my Illinois state taxes I would get nothing and owe nothing. What are some deductions I can make to get a larger refund. Some one once said you can deduct sales tax and I did buy a car but I can’t find the info on their website. I was a student last year and my parents claimed me.

A year after I graduated from college I went to work for my parents assisting in their wholesale lumber sales for just over one year. I did the 9 to 4 day every day. I am thinking that we could have done this tax thing better because now I am looking at footing the bill for the entire S.S. and Medicare tax? Does anyone know if there is a way to get around this?

I’m only seventeen and i’ve been working minimum wage part-time for almost 8 months. My parents initially thought I didn’t have to worry about taxes because I am still dependent on them. Then I realized my friends were filing tax returns, so my mom said to give her my W2 when I received it and she would take care of it. I never got a W2. Are some people exempt from doing taxes? Or am I going to owe some huge fine?

Every college i’ve spoken to said to get financial assistance I have to fill out the FASFA (which needs my parents tax information). My parents refuse to give me that information (no ifs, ands, or buts). Otherwise I have to wait until im 24 to get in school. I’m 22 now and don’t want to wait too long. I live with my boyfriend in his parents house and dont make very much money.

I asked an earlier question for my parents who were my clients that I rebated the commission money to.
I got a 1099 for a real estate commission on their home purchase.
I rebated a large amount of that back to the clients as a fee reduction.
How do I report this on my tax return to reduce the amount rebated from my gross income and not end up having to pay self employment and income tax on money that I essentially never received?

Many affiliate program requires to submit a W-9 and/or 1099 form.
For example, Incentaclick requires to send a 1099 form.
I am under 17 years old living in the United States. I have my own incentive site, which i pays members for signing up for services.
Can you guys tell me what will happen if i send a W-9 form, (i heard it doesn’t affect me, it just a form to prove the company’s earning)
How about 1099 form?(i heard that it affect me, i will have to file my taxes)
As i stated, i am under 17 years old. My family is receiving health benefits from the government. I don’t want to affect my family benefit. I think that the W-9 form doesn’t affect me or my family, and the 1099 form does.
Is there anyway to make my income or me separated from my parents? So it doesn’t affect their income and benefits?
Thank You.Please help me

I have a job as an independent contractor, that my parents let me have.
I have to fill out a W-9 Form, but I’m under 18.
Should I use my social security number? Or have my parents use theirs.
Cause I don’t want to use mine, and it be like, "Fail, you’re not 18. You’re Fired."

I filed as a zero, and paid my taxes, etc. I made about ,000 last year, I’m a full time student, but my parents claimed me on their taxes as a dependent, so I filed as a zero. Will I still get the 0 tax rebate back?
