I am in need of an attorney as I am preparing to sue my employer for abuse and/or creating a very hostile work environment. I have never sued anyone before and do not know what kind of attorney I need. Does anyone know what kind of lawyer I need for this?

Mistreatment is creating acute anxiety, fear, worry, desperation. I’ve even decided to begin taking medication for these things - never did anything like that in my life. I am very frightened of losing the job, as I am the only bread earner and have to pay all the bills.

I have kept very thorough records of what has transpired at work but do not know where to turn for legal consultation.

Before you ask, there is no one here I can go to, complain to, seek advice from. Those who work in the H.R. department answer to her, as well, and are terrified of her. Any time I have gently tried to voice a concern I was told to be quiet and careful. I am so horrified. Does anyone know anything about this?

Do I have to appear in court for child support?

I’m in Virginia and am filing for child support from my son’s father. I got a consultation from a lawyer and he says that I can just file through DCSE (Division of Child Support Enforcement) and I will only have to go to court for custody. Is this always the case?

Married in Vegas, Divorce in New Jersey?

OK this is a complicated situation for me. I knew a guy for a few years. I basically fell in love with him and he knew that. We went to Las Vegas for work and after everything we ended up getting married in one of those little white wedding chapels. I had been drinking, him not so much. Well anyway we go back to NJ (where we both live) and try to work this out. A couple months later we get into a fight and he leaves for Atlanta. Come to find out he slept with his ex-girlfriend and got her pregnant. I found this out about 8 weeks later. Friends have told me that he said he married me to better his career and that he said it looks better in his company *insert eyeroll*. After that I decided I want a divorce. He refuses to sign the papers. I filed as Irreconcilable Differences. I’m not asking for anything of his. Just for him to sign the papers. I can’t afford a top shelf attorney like him so my lawyer isn’t really that much of a help. Is there anyway I can force him to sign the papers? Any suggestions please? I just want out of this marriage.
Also once I get him to sign the papers, since I’m not asking for anything and I’m sure he doesn’t want anything of mine, how long before the divorce is finalized?

I had a messy issue where a corrected judgment was issued in Dec 2008. How can I find out if it will be (or can it be) taken from my taxes. This was a person to person civil suit. Not a company. Can their lawyer file something to take my taxes? How can I find out if they did or if they didn’t? The other party is in Florida so I can not get a hold of them. Will the IRS tell me?
The issue is IF they can and HOW I find out. Not if I owe them money or not. There are other issues that I did not find relevant to this that I omitted. I want to know WHO can take your Federal return. I knew someone with a medical bill that they said was taken from their Federal Taxes. That is why I ask.

This is somehow confusing

How can a person’s consultation with a lawyer be classified as a deduction for AGI in some cases and a deduction from AGI in other cases?

thanks

My husband and I are filing joint bankruptcy pro se (self filing). He has a old truck we own free and clear. I have a car that is worth about 4000 that I owe 0 that is past due on. I know we are only allowed 50 for a vehicle. Is that each or total? What is the law or exemption that will let me keep my car? Any ideas or suggestions? Does anyone know where you can find bankruptcy laws like that without a lawyer? Thanks!!
I know about reaffirming but I only owe 0 and that is past due. Can I still reaffirm on that?

My wife and I were able to successfully appeal our LTD denial. We also won our Social Security denial without a lawyer.

But that leaves open what happens afterwards, what options do I have when the private insurance company behaves unprofessionally by harassing, lying, and constantly threatening you by "reviewing your disability status", month after month, considering new paperwork old because it took them weeks to get to it, etc.?

Some examples:

**Refusal to give me my policy, they had to be forced to do so by my former employer, only after I hired a lawyer to send them a letter demanding they provide it.

**Constantly requesting "updated medical information", month after month, even though I have a letter from Social Security informing
me that they are not even going review my medical condition for the next 5-7 years, due to the severity of my injury! Seems like every
time I get them a report from my Dr., it takes them 4 weeks to review it and then it’s old news and it starts again!

**They lied and sent me a letter that they were going to reduce my monthly benefits dollar for dollar because of my daughter’s Social
Security benefits.I had to hire an attorney to review the contract, send a letter that it was not legal to do so, then they sent me a letter
apologizing for their "mistake".

I can go on and on, and that’s just since last august!

Am I protected from this abuse by the ADA or Bad Faith Provisions in NJ, or any other laws or regulations?
So you consider it an "inconvenience" that they tried to steal my benefits, refused to provide a policy, even though I am injured and in chronic
pain? What good are bad faith laws?

Thanks

If a couple is going through a divorce and the husband owes the IRS a large amount of money, and he stalls the divorce (court date) and withdraws millions of dollars from his accounts in the mean time, depositing the money into his illigitimate child’s trust fund.

If the wife is entitles to half of EVERYTHING, the wife’s lawyer is allowed to have the money removed from the trust fund, correct? Also keep in mind that the married couple has 3 children.
