The fairtax get at all tax evaders, criminal etc.. about a trillion dollars in tax. Businesses won’t have a tax burden allowing lower prices and more jobs. It will be collected by states as they do with state, and local sales tax. Then distributed to the treasury meaning the new tax organization won’t be as near as complicated and personal as the irs.

I’ve heard the horror stories in America about how many lawyers cannot find any jobs and are either too qualified for retail because of their JD’s and under qualified for working at a firm. Is this really the case in America? In Canada just last year 80% of all law school grads found articling positions and only the bottom 20% didn’t have any placement. So do lawyers have it much better in Canada than they do America in terms of job security?

In this tax paying year I had four different jobs in three different states; therefore, I believe I need a good tax professional to help me file my taxes. My problem is that I do not know how to find one and what will make a good tax professional "good".

The top 20% of earners (which includes me) pay 80% of the taxes in America. Why do the libs want to raise my taxes even higher by not extending the Bush tax cuts? Not to mention you know they will try to raise them further. Aren’t I paying more than my fair share already? Source: look it up yourself, I am accurate to within a few % points one way or the other.
Just slightly over 200K…38% bracket buster…and no I am not psoting my w-2 here…lol
To all the whiners…I wasn’t born making 6 figures, spent 4 years in the Marines making squat, paid my own way through college (with the help of the GI Bill) and worked minimum wage jobs as a youngster…my first job out of college was 16k a year…so don’t whine about not having made it yet…just keep your nose to the grindstone and get to work.

I’m getting married at the end of this month and I just wanted to know what are the pros and cons of filing jointly or seperately?
I always have a extra taken out of each of my checks and I work 2 jobs. We don’t have any children so I don’t think we can get earned income credit. There isn’t much difference in our income.

I did not file taxes last year(due 04/2007) for a corporation i ownin NJ. It was a small home repair business and i only operated for one yr as a LLC. i did file taxes this year , just a w2 for 19,000, but in a different state b/c i moved due to an injury and the need to change jobs.. during the transmisiion i negleted to file.what are the penalties for this type of screwup. how do i approach the irs to handle this or do i wait for them to contact me. I also had some issues a few yrs back and have a few more missing yrs i think 3 total in the past 10. i need some guidence and help to get me thru this so outside of hiring an attorney what can i do to fix this so i can finally have a good nights sleep?

Also any tips for filling it out? I had 2 jobs last year, but I didn’t make all that much money. They were both in different states though. Can I get one online, or do I need to go pick one up somewhere?

I am almost 40 years old and have over ,000 in credit card debt. I started a debt management program that will take 54 months to finish, but I’m not sure it’ll will help. Even working two jobs, I still just have enough to get by. I have been thinking about bankruptcy. I don’t know where to turn and have no one to talk to about this. Any input would be quite helpful.

I thought that the Constitution was origionally set up in a way that those jobs were volunteer jobs so that successful individuals could give back to their country.

I also thought that they were origionally supposed to serve one term, step down, and let someone else volunteer and give back to America.

What’s with all the career attorney junk, a 95% re-election rate, special interests, and little representation of their respective constitutency.
