In July this year, three of us started a web start-up in the form of a LLC. We are still building the product at this point, and so we will mostly have start-up costs on our books in 2007. None of us have Finance or Accounting background. However I have used Turbo Tax for our personal taxes the last few years.
I am looking for advice about whether I will be able to use Turbo Tax (Business Edition) to do our business & personal tax next year, or whether I should to hire an accountant. I’m curious about the level of difficulty for a non-Finance/Accounting person to do business tax through Turbo Tax (like are there any lingo in the interview questions that require substantial research), and the amount of time it will take. I would love to hear about your experience.

I currently work as a staff accountant and perform bank reconciliations. There is currently an opening in our tax department which deals with US, state, federal, foreign income tax compliance and analysis.
I don’t have any tax experience but I do have strong analysis skills and a B.S. in Economics.
The salary for this position is higher than my current job as well.
However, is this a good career move? If I were to stay in Finance / Accounting, would this make it harder for me to move on to other finance positions?

Hi, I really need some help on this for my accounting Homework.
Where does interest that is still due go in the trading and profit and loss account?
The second one says.. "One half of the 10% loan is repayable during the year ended 31 December 2007, and the balance after that date" So where would i put that in the TP&L account ?
Thanks guys

Anyone know of any self-employed tax/consulting accountants. I was wondering how are the hours? Is the job interesting? Is a Masters in accounting (MBA) or a Masters of Science in accounting more reputable?

My wife is a full time accounting student without a job. In 2008 tax she worked. However, when I file 2009 tax by end of this year, should I file jointly or show her my dependent on my tax? Which is a better way?
If I want to show her dependent, what should I do then?
