Should ICE warn businesses of audits for inspecting their hiring records or just raid the business's?
Does this not give them time to get rid of and warn the illegals they have working for them.
Does this not give them time to get fraudulent papers for some of the illegals and play the "I didn’t know" excuse?
Would you rather have them warning business’s or raiding the business’s and rounding up the illegal workers and jailing the employers?

ICE serves 180 audit notices to businesses in 5 states
Employment records will be screened for compliance with federal law
NEW ORLEANS - U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is issuing Notices of Inspection (NOIs) to 180 businesses in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas and Tennessee. The notices alert business owners that ICE will be inspecting their hiring records to determine whether or not they are complying with employment eligibility verification laws and regulations.
Inspections are one of the most powerful tools the federal government has to enforce employment and immigration laws. This new initiative is part of ICE’s increased focus on holding employers accountable for their hiring practices and efforts to ensure a legal workforce.
"ICE is committed to establishing a meaningful I-9 inspection program to promote compliance with the law. This effort is a first step in ICE’s long-term strategy to address and deter illegal employment," said Raymond R. Parmer, Jr. acting special agent in charge of the ICE Office of Investigations in New Orleans.
Employers are required to complete and retain a Form I-9 for each individual they hire for employment in the United States. This form requires employers to review and record the individual’s identity document(s) and determine whether the document(s) reasonably appear to be genuine and related to the individual.
Due to the ongoing, law enforcement sensitive nature of these audits, the names and locations of the businesses will not be released at this time.
In 2009, ICE implemented a new, comprehensive strategy to reduce the demand for illegal employment and protect employment opportunities for the nation’s lawful workforce. Under this strategy, ICE is focusing its resources on the auditing and investigation of employers suspected of cultivating illegal workplaces by knowingly employing illegal workers. The initiative being launched today is a direct result of this new strategy.

No warning at all. What would be the purpose of telling them except they could get rid of the evidence. That is as ignorant as calling a drug dealer and telling them the raid is at 6. The factory I worked at was raided last year. Actually it was a temp agency that supplies workers but ICE came to the factory at the same time they raided the offices. It was kind of funny watching all the illegals running for the doors only to be caught and put on a bus. Never saw them again. Three temp agencies were raided that day. They got a total of 389 illegals. Also the jobs were filled with no loss of production. Another good thing is our school enrollment of Hispanics dropped 5%. While I feel sorry for the children it has caused programs that had been dropped due to the increased cost to be reinstated.
There should be no warning period! What would we think if drug agents warned dealers they are going to be raided? Same principle as both break the law. Good Question.
no warning ,round up the treasonous employers and cart them off. the illegal will be out of a yob and thats good.
raid them, fine them, send them to prison, and make their undocumented workers WALK THE FOCK BACK. they walked here in the first place, let ‘em walk their a s s e s back home
What good do these audits do when at best they investigative these places and tell them the documents are not matching up. The company then just fires the employees whose documents came to the attention of ICE and all that happens is, they lose their job, but ICE at this point is not making any work place arrests, they simply release the workers and allow them to go free without any legal consequences and the illegals can then just get a new set of documents and find another job & still be out there working, until the next audit takes place. Just to audit and fire them is not going to accomplish very much when nobody is being deported or held accountable. Like the work place raids in the past held the workers accountable and they were arrested for using fake or stolen documents and the majority of them were deported. Now they just informed companies of the document problems and the company just releases the illegal and ICE allows them back into the community. So the audits is not an effective means of keeping illegals out of the work place. And it does not help when Janet wants to grant amnesty to all the illegals.Audits are smoke and mirrors to make it seem like they are out there and doing something, when all they are doing is letting workers go or they fine the company. I do not see audits do anything other then exchanging the illegals with document problems with new illegals who will use the same documents as the past ones and it will take a few years to hold another audit..
It depends, I am all for deporting the illegals but thats a small element and its costly.
If we go after the businesses then it has a better result.
What would be the net result if no business in America gave jobs to illegals and i9s were vetted or e verify was mandatory.
What if all landlords had to do the same thing?
