My grandmother passed away a few years ago. Her estate was left to me. Once the property was transferred into my name, I learned there was a second property I never even knew about. That property is still in my grandmother’s name, and its going up for auction for failure to pay back taxes and I’m possibly going to lose it. Are my executrix and elder law attorney accountable for this??? Please advise.

I recently became a Texas resident and paid sales tax to Texas on a car I purchased. Is that state sales tax deductable from my federal income taxes (Texas has no state income tax)?
I filed a chapter 13 bancruptcy in Feb 2005. I kept my new car, and now I find it hard to pay all my bills since they take 0 a month out of my check for the bancruptcy. Is there any way to serender the car and get the payment lowered? Any suggestions?

Could one sign over a promissory note due to pay upcoming IRS taxes? A friend of mine is going to owe the IRS next year but he also invested in a start up company and wants to sign over the promissory note to the IRS and let them collect… is this possible?
I can’t find anything on the IRS sites that pertains to this problem..
Edit: Wouldn’t the IRS liquidate any of his assets if he can’t pay his tax debt?
And wouldn’t this Promissory Note be considered an asset?
